1. Commission Services
Bert Peters provides custom art commission services including wood carvings, graphic design, and original drawings. By reserving a commission, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Reservation Deposit
A $100 non-refundable reservation deposit is required to secure your spot in the commission queue. This deposit is credited toward your final project cost once the commission is agreed upon and work begins.
- The deposit reserves your place in the commission queue.
- After payment, I will contact you within 1-2 business days to discuss your project.
- The deposit is non-refundable if you decide not to proceed after consultation.
- The deposit will be fully applied to your final commission cost.
3. Commission Process
The commission process typically follows these steps:
- Reservation: Pay the $100 deposit to secure your spot.
- Consultation: We discuss your vision, requirements, and I provide a custom quote.
- Agreement: Once you approve the quote, we agree on timeline and payment terms.
- Creation: I create your custom piece, providing updates as appropriate.
- Completion: Final payment and delivery/pickup of your artwork.
4. Pricing & Payment
- Final pricing depends on the scope, size, complexity, and materials required for your project.
- A custom quote will be provided after our consultation.
- For larger projects, payment plans may be arranged.
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
5. Timeline
Delivery timelines vary based on the type and complexity of the commission:
- Graphic Design: Typically 1-4 weeks
- Original Drawings: Typically 2-6 weeks
- Wood Carvings: Varies significantly based on size and complexity - can range from weeks to months for large pieces
Estimated timelines will be discussed during consultation and confirmed before work begins.
6. Copyright & Ownership
- Upon full payment, you receive ownership of the physical artwork.
- I retain the right to photograph and display the work in my portfolio, website, and promotional materials unless otherwise agreed.
- For graphic design work, usage rights will be discussed and agreed upon during the commission process.
7. Cancellation
- The $100 reservation deposit is non-refundable.
- If you cancel after work has begun, any additional deposits or payments may be partially refundable depending on the stage of completion.
- If I am unable to complete your commission for any reason, all payments will be refunded in full.
8. Limitation of Liability
Custom artwork is created to the best of my ability based on our agreed specifications. While I strive for your complete satisfaction, minor variations are inherent in handcrafted work and should be expected as part of the unique, artisanal nature of each piece.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
